ಹುಲಿವೇಷ ತಂಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಖ್ಯಾತಿ ಪಡೆದಿದ್ದ ಯುವಕನೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ತಲವಾರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಟ್ಟಾಡಿಸಿ ಬರ್ಬರ ಹತ್ಯೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪುತ್ತೂರು ತಾಲೂಕಿನ ನೆಹರು ನಗರ ಜಂಕ್ಷನ್ ನಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನ್ನೆ ರಾತ್ರಿ 11 ಗಂಟೆ ಸುಮಾರಿಗೆ ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ.‌ 

Puttur, Nov 7: A youth, who was famous for his tiger costume team, was chased and brutally murdered in Talavar. The incident took place at Nehru Nagar junction in Puttur taluk at around 11 pm last night.

The deceased has been identified as Akshay Kallega (26), the head of a tiger dance troupe named Kallega Tiger in Puttur. Akshay was called by a group of three to speak about the accident that took place in the evening. The gang then chased Akshay and hacked him to death at Nehru Nagar junction on Mani-Mysuru highway.

Manish and Chetu, both residents of Bannur, surrendered before the police. Another accused is absconding. The accident took place between two-wheelers on Monday evening and a fight broke out over the issue. Akshay was called to Nehru Nagar at night for Rs 2,000. The bus driver Chetu and his accomplices had a heated argument with Akshay and finally attacked him from Talawar.

Akshay, who led the Kallega Tigers team in the tiger dance, had teamed up to many places and won prizes. Apart from this, he had also visited the Bigg Boss stage once. The Puttur city police are investigating whether the act was committed for just Rs 2,000 or if there was an old enmity.
