Mangaluru, Jan 23, 2026: Yenepoya Nursing College, through its Department of Mental Health Nursing in collaboration with the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, successfully organized a National Conference titled “Redefining Neuropsychiatry: Innovation, Integration & Holistic Approaches for a Changing World” on January 23, 2026, at the EMD Hall, Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University.

The conference focused on the evolving landscape of neuropsychiatry and the integration of innovative and holistic approaches in mental health and neurological care. The event brought together academicians, clinicians, researchers, and nursing professionals from across the country.

Dr. Gangadhara Somayaji K S, Vice Chancellor of Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University, and Dr. Fathima D’Silva, Principal of NITTE Usha Institute of Nursing Sciences, graced the occasion as chief guests. They emphasized the uniqueness and growing super-specialized nature of neuropsychiatry, highlighting the significant impact of recent advancements in mental health and neurological sciences.

In her presidential address, Dr. Leena KC, Dean of Yenepoya Nursing College, highlighted the expanding scope of neuropsychiatry and its evolving role in the era of Artificial Intelligence, underscoring the need for innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The event was further honored by the presence of Guest of Honour Dr. B. H. Sripathi Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor, and Dr. B. T. Nandish, In-charge Registrar of Yenepoya (Deemed to be) University.

Dr. Binsha Pappachan, Organizing Chairperson and Head of the Department of Mental Health Nursing, Yenepoya Nursing College, welcomed the gathering, while Prof. Shashikumar Jawadagi, Head of the Department of Medical Surgical Nursing, proposed the vote of thanks.

The conference witnessed active participation from 184 delegates representing various states across India, making it a significant platform for knowledge exchange and professional networking in the field of neuropsychiatry.
