After Rotten Chicken Scare at KFC, McDonald’s Inspected at City Centre Mall in Mangalore

Mangaluru, August 16: Food Safety Department officials conducted an inspection at the McDonald’s outlet located at City Centre Mall on K.S. Rao Road in Mangaluru on Sunday
The inspection comes a day after food safety officials reportedly found rotten chicken meat at the KFC outlet in the same mall, prompting authorities to step up inspections of food establishments in the area.
During the inspection at McDonald’s, officials checked the freezers used to store meat and other food items, along with the quality and storage conditions of chicken burgers and other products.
Officials reportedly objected to vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items being stored together in the same deep freezer. They stressed that separate storage arrangements must be maintained to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety.
The officials also raised concerns over hygiene and pasted a warning notice at the outlet. The management was instructed to give priority to food safety and maintain proper hygiene and storage standards.
Officials warned that penalties could be imposed if similar violations are found again.
