Tulips bloom in Delhi ahead of G20 summit

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has started planting tulips as part of their 'Tulip Festival' for beautification of the national capital, ahead of the G20 Summit.

NDMC imported 1.24 lakhs tulips bulbs from Netherlands and planted in the first week of January, 2023
This year, the quantity of tulips planted has been doubled in order to showcase the beauty of city with tulip blossoms in every location of NDMC area.
The 'Tulip Festival', beginning Tuesday, has garnered the attention of nature lovers and anthophiles, with lawns of Shanti Path and several roundabouts in its vicinity decked up with thousands of red and white tulips.
Those who wish to witness blooming of tulips may visit Shanti Path, Central Park, Children Park, Mandi House, 11 Murti, Windsor Place, Akbar Road, AIIMS Circle, and Palika Kendra, the civic body officials said.
The blooming of tulips coincides with the G20 Foreign Ministers meeting to be held on March 1-2.
The civic body has also planned a one-week tulip festival, which will include a walk from Shanti Path from February 18 to 26, and a photography contest from February 14-25
Residents of Delhi can take tulip images and post it on NDMC's social media channels with the hashtag #NDMCTulipfestival.
