Aero India 2023 PM Modi inaugurates Asias largest aero show in Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the 14th edition of India's largest aerospace and defence exhibition, Aero India.

At the event, the prime minister bolstered the 'Make in India' campaign and gave a fresh impetus to the domestic aviation sector.
PM Modi also released commemorative stamps at the event. The sky of Bengaluru is becoming a witness to the capability of 'New India'. It gives testimony that the new height is the truth of 'New India', said PM Modi.
The biennial show, which is held for over five days, will return to its old avatar during the 2023 edition.
The five-day event will include aerial displays by aircraft and helicopters along with a large exhibition and trade fair for aerospace and defence companies.
The 13th edition, which was held in 2021, was reduced to a three-day affair due to Covid pandemic.
The last edition of Aero India was limited for business visitors and was not open to the general public.
As many as 809 exhibitors, including 110 foreign ones, had confirmed their participation at the show at Air Force Station Yelahanka, being positioned as a platform for 'Make in India for the world', defence officials said.
The five-day event will include aerial displays by aircraft and helicopters along with a large exhibition and trade fair of aerospace and defence companies.
This year, the exhibition is expected to be the biggest airshow with the highest rate of participation and will feature top international think-tanks, major aerospace companies and world leaders, according to the Defence Ministry.
Hindustani Aeronautic Limited (HAL), the nodal agency that organises defence events in the country, will organise the aero show this year.
